MMOA-1 manages the assignments and career progression for all Active Component unrestricted and restricted ground officers. Our monitors serve as the primary career counselors and assignment advocates for the ground combat, combat support, and combat service support communities.
The role of your monitor
Your PMOS monitor is your Strategic Career Partner and Advocate. Their role is to translate the needs of the Marine Corps into personal and professional development opportunities for the officers they manage.
You are required to coordinate with your monitor during your transition window to discuss your career path, future assignments, and to ensure any application for a competitive program aligns with your timeline and the needs of the service.
