Who we are

Our Child and Youth Programs, Exceptional Family Member Program, and School Liaison Program aim to assist Marines and families in navigating the challenges of the military lifestyle and support the care and development of children and family members with special needs. These family care services encompass a continuum of care that allows Marines to focus on their mission and supports development of strong families by addressing or mitigating the impacts of mission and other environmental factors that may challenge the resiliency, care, health, quick acclimation, education, or safety of Marine Corps children and family members

Child and Youth Programs

Child and Youth Programs (CYP) provide high-quality child-care and recreational programs to support eligible families. Child Development Programs, available for children 6 weeks through 12 years of age, include Child Development Centers, School Age Care, and Family Child Care homes. Child Development Programs offer full-day and part-time child care as well as hourly child care in some locations. Youth Programs, serving children ages 6 to 18, are offered at many installation locations.  All programs are designed to enrich children’s social-emotional, cognitive, and physical growth and development. CYP staff work in partnership with parents to meet each individual child’s needs in a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment.

Exceptional Family Member Program

The Exceptional Family Member Program supports military families with special medical and/or educational needs—ensuring continuity of care in permanent change of station transitions and improving quality of life through community resources and support. School Liaison Program

The School Liaison Program (SLP) focuses its efforts on making transitions for military school age children easier. Through connections with families, schools, commanders, community, and installation programs, School Liaisons engage in a system of support on behalf of the military child.

Our mission is to identify and coordinate community resources to reduce the impact of the mobile military lifestyle on military school-aged children and families; to implement predictable support services that assist children and youth with relocations, life transitions, and achieving academic success; and to provide a wide range of resources that facilitate school transitions to parents, students, school, commanders, and communities.
