Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) Commandant's Retention Program (CRP) Guidance

Program Overview

The FY26 Commandant's Retention Program (CRP) opens on 1 January 2025. Marines interested in participating in the program are strongly encouraged to submit their reenlistment requests promptly to maximize their opportunities for the best available incentives.

Submission Process and Command Responsibilities
  • Screening Requirements:
All FY26 CRP submissions must be thoroughly screened by the unit Career Counselor and Commanding Officer before submission. This screening process ensures that:

    • The Marine meets all qualifications.

    • The Marine is fully recommended for participation in the CRP.

  • Submission Acknowledgment:
Submitting an FY26 CRP request through the Total Force Retention System (TFRS) serves as the Command's formal acknowledgment of the Marine's qualifications and recommendation for the program.

Enhanced Duty Station Incentive (EDSI)
  • Duty Station Preferences:

Marines selected for the FY26 CRP have the option to request an Enhanced Duty Station Incentive (EDSI) as part of their reenlistment package.

    • Marines are encouraged to select up to five MCCs from the CRP vacancy list when submitting their request.

    • Unit Career Counselors must document these preferences in the TFRS submission by listing the Marine’s MCC choices in priority order (1 to 5).

  • Preferred Method of Contact:
Marines should provide their preferred method of contact to facilitate direct communication with Primary Military Occupational Specialty (PMOS) Monitors regarding assignments. This ensures:

    • Timely coordination for duty station placement.

    • Effective communication throughout the process.
