Chad Schrecengost is the Deputy Director for the Manpower Management Division, Manpower and Reserve Affairs (M&RA). As Deputy, he provides leadership and oversight to a workforce of over 130 civilian employees and 230 Marines within eight branches that execute talent management for all military members of the Marine Corps across the human resource lifecycle including accessions, assignments, retention, and separation.

Mr. Schrecengost was commissioned in the United States Air Force upon graduation from the United States Air Force Academy in 1996. He served in a variety of behavioral science, force support, and manpower and personnel positions at squadron, major command, Headquarters, Air Force, the Joint Staff, and Office of the Secretary of Defense levels. Highlights of his Air Force career include command of the 802d Force Support Squadron, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, and of the 82d Mission Support Group, Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. He also served as an Air Force Fellow with the RAND Corporation, Santa Monica, California, researching people strategies for human capital accession, training, and development policy.

Retiring as a colonel, Mr. Schrecengost was awarded the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Air Force Recognition Ribbon with one oak leaf cluster, Nuclear Deterrence Operations Service Medal, and other unit and personal awards.

Following retirement, Mr. Schrecengost served as Assistant Deputy Chief Operating Officer at the Office of Federal Student Aid within the Department of Education. While there, he oversaw development and execution of first-ever student loan relief processes for over 130,000 defrauded borrowers.

Mr. Schrecengost holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado, a Master of Arts degree from the University of Texas, San Antonio, and a Master of Military Operational Art and Science degree from Air Command and Staff College, Alabama. He also completed Squadron Officer School as a distinguished graduate, Joint Forces Staff College, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Level IV Antiterrorism Executive Seminar.
