Mission

Manpower Management, under the direction of the Director, Manpower Management Division, is responsible for the administration, retention, distribution, appointment, evaluation, awarding, promotion, retirement, discharge, separation, and service records of commissioned officers, warrant officers, and enlisted personnel of the Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserves.

Manpower Management Leaders

Director, Manpower Management
Brig. Gen. Ryan S. Rideout

Brigadier General Rideout assumed duties as Director, Manpower Management in June 2023. His previous general officer assignments include Deputy Commanding General, I Marine Expeditionary Force from July 2021 to June 2023, and Director Military Advisor Group, Combined Joint Task Force – Operation INHERENT RESOLVE based in Baghdad, Iraq from June of 2020 to June of 2021.

Deputy Director, Manpower Management
Mr. Chad W. Schrecengost

Chad Schrecengost is the Deputy Director for the Manpower Management Division, Manpower and Reserve Affairs (M&RA). As Deputy, he provides leadership and oversight to a workforce of over 130 civilian employees and 230 Marines within eight branches that execute talent management for all military members of the Marine Corps across the human resource lifecycle including accessions, assignments, retention, and separation.

Senior Enlisted Advisor, Manpower Management
Sgt. Maj. Michael J. Exlos

Sergeant Major Exlos enlisted in the Marine Corps in September 1998 and completed recruit training at MCRD Parris Island. Following recruit training, he reported to the School of Infantry at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for Marine Combat Training. Once graduated, he reported to Navy and Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center for training as a 0231, Intelligence Specialist.
