PURPOSE
To provide Active Reserve Marines, both officers and enlisted, a progressive curriculum designed specifically for sharing, discussing, and exercising the fundamentals of reserve integration.
COURSE CURRICULUM
The Total Force Integration Staff Training (TFIST) curriculum consists of four components. The first component is designed for new officer accessions and is required attendance within the first year of accessing into the AR Program. This is called TFIST. The second component is designed for the mid-career AR Officers. This course is called Advanced – TFIST (A-TFIST). The third component within the curriculum is designed for mid-late career enlisted AR SNCOs. This course is called Enlisted-TFIST (E-TFIST). The fourth component of the curriculum is designed for the senior AR Officers within the AR community and its called Senior-TFIST (S-TFIST).

TFIST-Basic
SEMINAR OBJECTIVES:
– Understand role as an AR officer and how to facilitate integration of the RC into the Total Force.
– Understand the organization of the RC and how the RC augments and reinforces the Active Component (AC).
– Understand the means of training and instructing the RC.
– Understand the means of organizing, preparing, and administering policies and regulations affecting the RC.
– Understand the unique aspects of reserve administration to include drilling status, reserve retirement, medical considerations, recruitment, and retention strategies.
– Gain an understanding of the funding procedures and types of funding as they relate to the RC.

SEMINAR OBJECTIVES
– Gain perspective regarding past and current mobilization and integration challenges.
– Gain an understanding of Global Force Management and Total Force Synchronization to include current force generation plans.
– Understand the mobilization process for both units and individuals IAW MCO 3000.19B (MAID-P).
– Gain a better understanding of the Force Deployment Planning and Execution (FDP&E) process.
– Gain an understanding of the procedures for contingency sourcing for both individuals and units.
– Gain an understanding of the funding procedures relative to the authorities in which they support.
– Receive an orientation on the Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) program and its purpose.
– Gain an appreciation for Reserve Support Unit/Deployment Processing Center Operations.

SEMINAR OBJECTIVES
– Gain in-depth understanding of the lessons learned from the Service’s Mobilization Exercise FY-19.
– Gain in-depth understanding of principal legislative provisions governing the Active Reserve Program designed to ensure the readiness of the Reserve Component.
– Gain in-depth understanding of Senior Reserve Integrator responsibilities for the management and administration of Reserve manpower and resource programs.
– Gain in-depth understanding of the Department of Defense and Service policies that implement Full Time Support programs, as directed by Congress, that are intended to ensure the readiness of the Reserve Component to meet wartime responsibilities.
