Supports the MPE Branch Head developing, directing, and implementing MCLS events and program elements. Reviews the adequacy and effectiveness of plans, programs, and achievements. Identifies specific and/or potential problem areas and recommends necessary action for their resolution to the MPE Branch Head. Serves as the senior specialist for the Marine Corps on MCLS matters with officials from external agencies and organizations. Supports the MPE Branch Head and local commands in developing and executing their MCLS participation and/or outreach programs. Participates in the development and review of goals and timetables for the increasing outreach to communities across the United States for enhancing strategic communications and connectedness to the American public. Advocates for the development of outreach plans for minorities and women under the framework of strategic requirements and diversity. Serves as a guest speaker on occasion as a means of outreach to history-based organizations.
• DoD HBCU/MI Presidents’ Roundtable initiatives – serves as MPE point of contact • Office of Naval Research (ONR) HBCU/MI initiatives – serves as MPE point of contact • Participates in the Diversity Review Board as required • Works with Marine Corps University and other educational institutions to ensure curricula reflects the rich heritage of our diverse Marine Corps. • Teaches at Marine Corps University as requested on topics of diversity and equal opportunity within the Marine Corps • Teaches the Marine Corps Great Leaders:Montford Point Forward course to both Command and Staff College.
