Senior Leader Management Branch (MMSL)

Who we are

The Senior Leader Management Branch (MMSL) is responsible for all aspects of Marine Corps Senior Leader administration, information, and career management.

The MMSL Branch serves as the Marine Corps’ representative for Senior Leader matters among other services, the Department of the Navy, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Additionally, MMSL is the process manager and primary administrative resource for the life-cycle of General Officers and force-level Sergeants Major, which includes assignments, promotions, and retirement. Within MMSL, the Senior Leader Help Desk is the main communication tool for active, reserve, and retired General Officers and force-level Sergeants Major, and their support staff and spouses.

Primary FUnctions

• Maintain unity of effort within Headquarters, United States Marine Corps for General Officer matters.

• Serve as the single point of service to the Commandant of the Marine Corps, and internal and external customers.

• Ensure seamless, Total Force integration of active and reserve General Officers and force-level Sergeants Major.
