Master Gunnery Sergeant Michael G. Huff
Senior Enlisted Advisor, Business and Support Services Division
Master Gunnery Sergeant Huff currently serves as the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Director of Business and Support Services (MR) in the United States Marine Corps. His journey through the Marine Corps, beginning with his enlistment in January 1999, epitomizes dedication, leadership, and excellence in service. Born into the Marine Corps family at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina, Master Gunnery Sergeant Huff's early training laid the foundation for his illustrious career. Assigned the MOS 3381, Cook, his commitment to excellence saw him quickly rise through the ranks.
Promoted to Lance Corporal in December 1999, Master Gunnery Sergeant Huff's leadership qualities became evident as he assumed roles of increasing responsibility. Notably, his contributions to the mess hall during the A.P. Hill inspection earned him accolades and the prestigious Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
Elevated to the rank of Sergeant in June 2003, Master Gunnery Sergeant Huff's journey took him to diverse assignments, including deployments to Iraq, where his efforts in Warfighter Express Service Teams left an everlasting mark on those he served.
Transitioning into between roles within Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS), Master Gunnery Sergeant Huff's adaptability and leadership were evident as he managed stores and exchanges across different locations, from Japan to Afghanistan, each time leaving a positive impact on those under his charge.
His tenure as a recruiter in Providence, Rhode Island showcased his ability to inspire and guide young Marines towards excellence, a testament to his dedication to the Corps' future.
Promoted to Master Sergeant in April 2016, his commitment to personal development saw him earn a Bachelor's degree in Sports & Health Sciences, followed by a Master's in Business Administration, enriching his ability to lead and serve.
Assuming roles of increasing responsibility, from Business Operations Chief to Operations Chief, Master Gunnery Sergeant Huff's leadership at Camp Lejeune and Camp Pendleton enhanced the Quality of Life for Marines and their families, earning him the respect and admiration of his peers.
His distinguished career is adorned with numerous awards, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, a testament to his unwavering dedication and exemplary service to the United States Marine Corps.
